Our point of view
Most pet care was built by lowering the dose of human formulations.
The premise is convenient and quietly wrong. It presumes that an animal’s body is a smaller, simpler version of our own — that what works on our face will work on a paw, that what we use on our hair will suit a coat, that what soothes our skin will soothe theirs.
Where we begin.
Our first formulation is for a dog’s paws — a region where the gap between human assumptions and animal reality is most striking, and where a thoughtful product can do the most measurable good.
From there, we extend the same discipline across the care our pets receive every day. Each new product begins with the same question: what does this animal, this routine, actually need?
We formulate by the literature.
Every ownui formulation begins in veterinary dermatology, animal physiology, and the specific biochemistry of what we are addressing. We investigate widely, source carefully, and use only ingredients with a record of safety and a measurable role to play.
We do not formulate by analogy. We formulate by what the animal actually is.
